Muscle tension can cause colic, joint blockage and insufficient muscle development. Psychological problems like fear or restlessness are typical signs of a possible magnesium deficiency.

A deficiency in magnesium only shows up in the horse's blood count when up to a third of their reserves have already been mobilised from the bones. By then, restlessness, anxiety, tension, restricted mobility (blockages), sluggish muscle building or even colic may appear as symptoms.

The proportion of magnesium in the bones is actually almost 12 percent. A magnesium deficiency can therefore affect the structure and elasticity of bones, but also the quality of the teeth. The muscle metabolism is also impacted by magnesium deficiency and manifests itself in over-acidified, stiff and cramped muscles, creating problems that can also spread to the digestive tract. Deficiencies can cause spasms from the eye muscles to the muscles of the lungs. Further symptoms may develop.

The horse's magnesium requirement increases enormously in times of physical growth, physical exertion due to muscle development and in stressful situations. Covering the magnesium requirement with inorganic salts is extremely questionable compared to organically bound compounds.

Magnesium substitution should be considered for blood values below 0.8 mmol / l.

Mg Magnesium contains only purely organically bound and highly available magnesium in the form of magnesium citrate in a delicate herbal blend. Feeding trials clearly showed that dr. WEYRAUCH Mg Magnesium is happily eaten by horses.
