Stiefel Zink Plus - For healthy and strong skin Zink Plus is fed to compensate for feed-related zinc and trace element deficiencies. With organically bound zinc, iron, copper, manganese, selenium, Trace elements in organically bound form can be optimally utilised by the body. Zinc Plus can have a positive effect on the immune system, skin and hooves. Zinc is generally classified among the trace elements that are essential for the metabolism and is part of many enzymes. It is also involved in cellular growth and wound healing, especially in the event of skin problems. The immune system as well as many hormones require zinc to function. Each change of coat increases the zinc consumption in the body of the horse. Only limited amounts of zinc can be stored in the body. It must therefore be regularly supplied in the feed. The soils in many regions are short of zinc and selenium, which results in respective deficiencies in the roughage and concentrated feed. Sufficient zinc should be provided in additional feed in such cases. Copper is involved in the transport of oxygen and is part of many enzymes, as is manganese and selenium. Manganese also plays an important role in the utilisation of vitamin B1. Selenium has an important role regarding the protection of cell membranes against oxidative destruction. Iron is mainly responsible for blood production. It also plays an important role in oxygen transport and storage as well as in the cellular metabolism.
