Starch can cause issues for horses. Starch is converted into sugar in the small intestines, where it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, driving horses blood sugar levels up. If this sugar is not converted directly into muscles, over-feeding starch can lead to health problems.

Leaving grains out of your horses' diet may cause them to miss valuable proteins and fatty acids that are usually absorbed through their concentrated feed. We use only oilseeds for these biscuits. Oilseeds contain a high proportion of valuable oils, proteins and sometimes mucilage but are still starch-free. The balanced mixture of seeds ensures a wide range of fatty acids, just as horses absorb them in nature. In addition, they taste incredibly delicious!
